A watch travels badly on its own at the bottom of a suitcase. A case, a leather pouch or a watch roll holds it in place, strap coiled, away from knocks and scratches.

Two French workshops lead this selection: Grandval, awarded the Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant label, and Avel & Men, who make in Brittany. Full-grain milled leather takes on a patina; Barbour oiled cotton simply shrugs off the rain.
