Springbars

A tired spring bar is replaced, not repaired. The spring loses its travel, the tip flattens, and the strap eventually comes free. Our springbars are reinforced stainless steel, from 18 to 26 mm.

Springbar or spring pin: the same part

Both names describe one piece: a sprung pin holding the strap between the lugs. Not to be confused with a fixed bar, welded to the case, which cannot be removed — precisely the case where a NATO strap is the answer.

Choosing the springbar width

The springbar width is the watch's lug width, to the millimetre. For 20 mm lugs, 20 mm springbars. Our lug width table by watch model gives the match if you are unsure.

Springbars: set of 4 or pack of 20

A set of four covers a strap change with a spare pair. For a bench that gets through them, packs of twenty come in 20 mm and 22 mm, the two most requested widths.

The spring bar tool that goes with them

Springbar or spring pin — what is the difference?

None: both name the same sprung pin. The distinction that matters is elsewhere — a fixed bar, welded to the case, cannot be removed.

How many springbars does a strap change need?

Two, one per lug end. A set of four leaves a spare pair.

Can a springbar be changed without a tool?

It calls for a fine-fork spring bar tool. Without one, you risk scratching the lug or flattening the tip of the spring.
