The six-watch box is our best seller across every material, and Makassar is its most requested version. The reason is simple: it sits on a dresser or in a drawer without taking over, and the brown veneer warms a room where black lacquer creates a mass.

It is also the size that best covers a collection still being built — six slots is already serious without becoming furniture.

What the veneer is worth

Makassar ebony is recognised by its dark brown streaks over a lighter ground, never identical from one piece to the next. The multi-layer gloss varnish gives the figure depth and protects the wood from micro-scratches.

Finishing detail: each divider is varnished on top, in the same Makassar, and lined only on the side faces. Open the lid and you see a grid of wood, not a textile border.
