Beige is the historic tone of the military strap
Army-issue straps were never black: they were tan, beige or sand, because that is the natural colour of an undyed leather. The beige Militare takes up that original tone rather than a fashion colour.
A natural rubber lining
The lining is black natural rubber, not leather. It is what absorbs moisture, and that is what separates this build from a simply leather-lined strap. On a watch worn outdoors, it is the difference between one season and several years.
