Polyamide is a plastic: it carries no magnetic field and cannot pass one to the movement it holds. On a piece just demagnetised, that is one more guarantee the work will hold.
Same logic on the tooling side: antimagnetic tweezers answer the same concern, and a watch demagnetizer treats the piece itself.
Polyamide takes the bath. The holder is cleaned with the piece, without prior dismantling or particular precaution — one bench operation fewer to plan for.
That is 20 to 43 mm. The range covers most wristwatch movements, from the small dress calibre to the large diver's automatic.
The clamping figure is not the calibre: it is taken overall, casing ring included. It decides whether the movement fits the jaws, and it always exceeds the bare diameter of the movement.
Turning it over gives access to both faces without refitting the calibre. On a job that means moving from dial to bridges, that is one operation saved and one risk removed.
Identical jaws, identical clamping range, same Swiss manufacture: the 4040 P does the same work as the Bergeon 4040 movement holder with a steel frame, at a lower price. It is the way into a tool that benches keep for twenty years.
The Beco stand of ten watchmaker screwdrivers and the dust blower go with the job. The rest is in watchmaker tool kits.
