An adjustable, reversible movement holder suited to calibres from 8 3/4''' to 19''' — that is 20 to 43 mm. It clamps on an outer diameter of 30 to 48 mm. Nickel-plated, sandblasted steel frame. Made in Switzerland by Bergeon.
The jaws open to the size of the movement and turn over according to whether you are working dial side or bridge side. That is what replaces a collection of dedicated holders.
Two measurements not to be confused. The calibre runs from 8 3/4''' to 19''', that is 20 to 43 mm: the size of the movement itself. The clamping is on an outer diameter of 30 to 48 mm, casing ring included. A 22 mm movement in its ring can therefore exceed 30 mm overall — and that is the figure the jaws must accept.
Holding a calibre by hand while turning a screw invites a slip across a bridge. The holder frees both hands and fixes the piece in a stable plane.
This version has a nickel-plated, sandblasted steel frame: a matt finish that does not throw the bench lamp back into the watchmaker's eye. The Bergeon 4040 P movement holder repeats the same mechanics in unbreakable polyamide, with identical jaws and clamping range.
La Boîte à Montres is an official Bergeon retailer. The tools are made in Switzerland.
A movement holder works with screwdrivers of the right width and tweezers that do not magnetise: the Bergeon 5970 stand and the set of 3 antimagnetic tweezers complete it. Everything sits in watchmaker tool kits.
