The new edition gathers 648 pages across three volumes in a slipcase. It covers Rolex production from 1905, model by model, reference by reference, with revised estimates and current prices for watches still in the catalogue.

Breadth is what sets it apart from the monographs. Where a Daytona or GMT-Master volume goes very deep on one line, the encyclopedia holds the whole: you can compare two models, follow a dial evolution across lines, date a marking by comparison.

The everyday ranges

Datejust, Day-Date, Oyster Date and Oyster No Date are treated at the same level of detail as the divers. This matters more than it seems: these are the most traded Rolex on the second-hand market, and the hardest to authenticate for lack of dedicated literature. Air-King, Turn-O-Graph, Sky-Dweller and Prince complete the picture.

The collector ranges

Bubble Back, Comex, Double Red, Milgauss, Sea-Dweller, Explorer I and II, GMT-Master, Submariner, Yacht-Master, chronographs and Dato-compax. Unusual dials get their own treatment: Buckley, Patrizzi, tropical, ghost, spider, exclamation mark, underline, meter first and feet first.

Retailer-signed dials — Tiffany, Cartier, Serpico y Laino, Bucherer, Astrua — are documented separately, with the logos reproduced. On those pieces the logo carries much of the value, and it is forged.

New edition

This volume replaces the previous, now out of print. Content has been expanded and estimates revised. Text in English and Italian. The reference tables, serial numbers and estimates read without translation.
