The base stays black — so it goes anywhere — and two pinstripes lift it out of anonymity. On a big watch, this dose avoids the black-block effect without tipping into colour.

Single-piece nylon NATO strap built to the G10 specification of the British Ministry of Defence. It threads under the case between both spring bars and wraps fully around the wrist. Marine-grade anti-corrosion stainless steel buckle and keepers. Machine washable at 30°.

22mm lug width: the watches concerned

Seiko Samurai, Seiko Arnie, Sinn U1, Sinn U2, Sinn 857. Case diameter does not come into it, only the gap between the lugs decides.

Care: machine washable

Nylon takes a 30° machine wash. That is an advantage neither leather nor rubber offers: after a day at sea or on the move, the strap comes back as new. Air dry, never on a radiator.
