Khaki is where the NATO strap came from
Before it was an accessory, the NATO strap was standard issue. In 1973 the British Ministry of Defence ordered a nylon strap under the reference G10 — named after the form you filled in to get one. Colour: khaki. Not black, not grey. Khaki.
So this colourway imitates nothing: it is the original. The red pinstripe lifts it out of strict military territory and gives it a life off duty.
Military NATO strap: how to spot a real one
A genuine military NATO strap comes down to three things. One piece of nylon, no joining seam. Two spring bars, never one. And marine-grade anti-corrosion stainless steel, because salt does not forgive. The rest is decoration.
