The original stripe, 1964

Plenty of straps claim a James Bond connection. This one is the real thing. In 1964, in Goldfinger, Sean Connery wears a Submariner 6538 on a black and grey striped nylon strap. No red pinstripe, no khaki: two colours, nothing else. This is that strap.

The film came out before the British Ministry of Defence issued its official order, which only followed in 1973. The NATO strap became a style object before it became standard issue. Sixty years on, the stripe has not changed.

Single-piece nylon NATO strap built to the G10 specification of the British Ministry of Defence. It threads under the case between both spring bars and wraps fully around the wrist. Marine-grade anti-corrosion stainless steel buckle and keepers. Machine washable at 30°.

Two spring bars, one safety net

This is what the NATO strap was designed for. The strap bears on both spring bars: if one fails, the watch is still held by the other. On a valuable timepiece, this is not a construction detail — it is the whole point.

Premium 20mm NATO strap

High-density woven nylon does not stretch or fray. Marine-grade stainless steel on the buckle and keepers resists salt. That is what separates a premium NATO strap from a few-euro webbing: it lasts, and you can put it on a gold watch without it looking like a compromise.

Fits 20mm lug width

20mm is the most common lug width on the market. IWC Mark XVIII, Doxa Sub 300, Marathon GSAR, Marathon TSAR, Oris Divers Sixty-Five 40. If your watch has a 20mm lug width, this strap fits.

Few customers stop at one: the stripe comes in variations. See the 20mm Goldfinger grey NATO strap, our best seller, or move up to the 22mm black and grey NATO strap if your watch has wider lugs. The full range is in our 20mm NATO straps. For a leather take on the same idea, see our Arezzo straps.
