White at 18mm: the gamble

White demands a faultless finish: on a narrow strap, the smallest weave defect shows. It is also the most summery colourway in the catalogue. 30° machine wash when summer has left its marks.

The nylon here forms a single band with no join — that is the very principle of the G10. It runs under the case, bears on both spring bars and loops back to the buckle. Tongue and keepers are cut from marine stainless steel that shrugs off corrosion. 30° machine wash accepted.

18mm lug width: the watches concerned

Seiko SNK809, Seiko SNXS79, Omega Speedmaster Reduced, Omega Seamaster vintage 34, among others. 18mm is the size of small cases and original military watches. Check yours: the case diameter tells you nothing, only the gap between lugs counts.

G10 heritage, without the folklore

The NATO strap came from a British Ministry of Defence order in 1973, referenced G10 — named after the form you filled in to get one. The specification: one piece, two spring bars, nylon that does not rot in tropical humidity, and enough length to go over a wetsuit.
