Red, tempered by sand

A clean red, with a sand pinstripe that stops it shouting. On a small watch, it is the only way to have red without the strap taking over.

What separates a good NATO from a bad one

Three points, nothing else. Weave density: loose nylon sags within one summer. Steel quality: cheap steel turns your wrist green. And the finish of the ends: poorly heat-sealed, they fray. That is where the price of a NATO strap is decided.

One piece of nylon, no joining seam: the original G10 construction. The strap runs under the case, bears on both spring bars and loops back on itself. Marine-grade anti-corrosion stainless steel buckle and keepers, unaffected by salt. Machine wash at 30°.

Is your watch 18mm?

A few examples: Seiko SNK809, Seiko SNXS79, Omega Speedmaster Reduced, Omega Seamaster vintage 34. Careful — the same model can exist in 18 and 20mm depending on the vintage. A caliper between the lugs settles it in a second.
