Raw dark brown nubuck watch strap

The Horseman nubuck strap has been neither smoothed nor patinated nor corrected: a raw hide, dark brown, whose grain stays visible and varies from one example to the next.

Few tanneries still work this kind of raw hide: the finish takes fewer operations but far more sorting, because no flaw can be hidden under a layer of pigment. It is the opposite of a corrected-grain leather.

Rubber lining stitched around the full perimeter

Beneath the nubuck, the lining is rubber, stitched around the entire perimeter. The stitch runs the full length of the strap.

It limits the effects of perspiration on the surface hide and extends the working life of the strap. It is what makes a raw leather wearable daily.

Flat structure, men's watch strap for a 24 mm square case

The structure is flat, linear in thickness along the whole length, with no padding and no taper. On a 24 mm square case, that flatness is what lets the strap continue the line of the case instead of breaking it at the lug.

The stitching is cream, in clear contrast with the dark brown. With the lining stitch running round the strap, it is the only graphic element.
