Oil tanning, and what it changes

The calf of the Militare is not tanned like the other leathers in the collection: it is oil-tanned. The fat enters the fibre instead of sitting on the surface, which makes the hide denser, darker and far less sensitive to moisture. It is the process used for harness leather, not for fine leather goods.

A military register, not a costume

Dark leather, a wide brushed stainless buckle, no flourish. The Militare does not chase a vintage look through artificial patina: it is built as a working strap. It is shown on a Panerai, by way of illustration.

Italian manufacture

Leather tanned and strap assembled in Italy, in the Arezzo workshops. Black waterproof rubber lining. Brushed stainless buckle 20 mm included and removable.
