The dark brown 20mm Liberty saddle leather watch strap is cut from the back of the hide, natural grain on show, white contrast stitching. On this deep brown the white stitch stands out most: it is the most characterful Liberty of the range.

The saddlery code

White thread, even stitch, decorative lock stitch at the buckle: the Liberty borrows its vocabulary from saddlery workshops rather than from fine leather goods.

Made in Austria

Hirsch has manufactured in Austria since 1765. On the Liberty it reads in the triple hand-varnished edges and keepers and in the decorative lock stitch.

A dense leather, taken from the back

Saddlery calls for leather without stray elasticity. Hirsch takes the Liberty's from the back of the hide, where the fibres are tightest, and leaves the natural grain visible.
