The light brown 20mm Liberty saddle leather watch strap is cut from the back of the hide, natural grain on show, white contrast stitching. Light brown warms a steel watch and lets the white stitch blend into the leather.

Saddle leather from the back of the hide

Hirsch cuts the Liberty from the back of the hide, the densest part of the skin. This is the leather of saddles and harnesses: it does not deform, it patinates.

A line that structures

The white contrast stitch follows the edge along the full length. It gives the Liberty its workshop look, halfway between classic and utilitarian.

A finish you can check by eye

Look at the edge: it is smooth, even, faintly glossy. Three hand-applied coats of varnish, on the edges as on the keepers.
