It is a rare combination, and it is what makes this piece interesting. Matt does not hold fingerprints — the main complaint about gloss boxes, which get wiped every other day. The tempered glass, meanwhile, shows all ten watches without opening.

You end up with a box you handle often without it showing, and whose contents stay in view.

The thickness of the timber

The shell is noticeably thicker than the range average, and you hear it when it closes: the lid lands with a dull sound rather than a snap. The resulting weight, 2.1 kg, stops the box sliding when you shut it one-handed.

The dividers are lacquered on top and lined only on their side faces, giving a crisp black grid when it opens.
