The 22mm waterproof watch strap Explorer khaki is built in layered leather, calf surface, with a black rubber lining that is stitched and cannot rot. Marine stainless buckle included and removable, compatible with a deployant clasp as an option.
Khaki is not a muted brown: it is a dull green and reads as such on the wrist. It goes with black dials and graduated bezels, and works particularly well on reissues of military dive watches — of which there are many at 22 mm.
This strap is shown on a Triton dive watch, by way of illustration. That is precisely the use case: a diver deserves a strap that does not fear water, and khaki leather gives it a character rubber cannot.
Calf surface tanned in Italy, black rubber lining stitched and unable to rot. The lining takes the water; the leather neither swells nor stiffens. Stitching the lining is what separates this construction from a simple bond.
