Red is rare on a leather watch strap, and virtually unobtainable in nubuck. Drum dyeing gives a deep shade here, with no varnished effect, darkening in the hollows of the nap. This is a piece chosen to be seen.

A velvety material, a saddle build

Vegetable-tanned cowhide nubuck, hypoallergenic. Two saddle stitches at the lugs, no side stitching along the rest of the strap. The lining is nubuck, identical to the surface nubuck — which is what gives the strap its immediate comfort, with no breaking-in period.

Nomos Tangente 35, Seiko SNXS79, vintage Omega De Ville, Hamilton Khaki Pilot Pioneer. Red calls for a neutral dial — white, cream, black — that lets it exist without overloading the wrist.

Made in Tuscany
