Yellow is the trickiest colour to place on a strap. As a solid block it turns into a hi-vis vest. Reduced to two thin lines on black, it becomes a controlled signal. Against a chronograph with a yellow counter, the match falls into place with no effort.

Spotting a NATO that will last

It comes down to three details. Weave density first: loose nylon sags after a single summer. The grade of steel next: a bottom-price alloy ends up greening the skin. The ends last: badly heat-sealed, they soon fray. That, and nothing else, is where the price of a good NATO is justified.

Here nothing is glued or joined end to end. The nylon forms a continuous band, true to the G10 standard. It runs under the case and settles against both spring bars. Tongue and keepers are marine stainless steel, indifferent to salt. A 30° machine wash brings the fabric back to new.
