Bordeaux is rare on a NATO strap, and that is a pity. It gives what red cannot: a warm colour that keeps its composure. Paired with beige and edged in black, it makes a late-season strap, one for the shorter days.
From 16 to 24 cm of wrist circumference, the strap follows — even over a wetsuit. That reserve of length was already in the original specification, and it still earns its keep. The strap is made from a single piece of nylon, with no joining seam, to the G10 construction. The band runs under the case, bears on both spring bars and loops back on itself. Tongue buckle and keepers in marine-grade anti-corrosion stainless steel, untouched by salt. Machine wash at 30°.
IWC Mark XVIII, Doxa Sub 300, Marathon GSAR, Marathon TSAR, Oris Divers Sixty-Five 40. No tool is needed: the strap slides under the case and the spring bars stay put. The video first shows how to remove the bracelet already in place.
Few people stop at one model: the 20mm dark brown NATO strap or the 20mm black beige orange NATO strap round out this autumn shade nicely. To move up, look toward the NATOCONCEPT bordeaux. The full width sits in our 20mm NATO straps. Want some context? the history of James Bond's NATO strap traces the story of this strap worn by a certain agent. And for the step-by-step, our NATO strap installation guide shows it all on screen.
