Khaki and yellow: the rarest

Yellow is the least worn colour in the series, which is what makes it interesting. On a khaki ground it signals without shouting. You will not pass this strap on someone else's wrist — exclusivity on top of the elasticity.

It is worn tight

That is its original purpose. The Marine Nationale is worn tighter than a regular strap: the tension is what lets it absorb shocks and hold in the water. It can even be worn over a diving wetsuit — a rigid strap could not. After a few wears, it moulds to the wrist.

The strap that absorbs shocks

The whole difference is the material. Where a nylon NATO is rigid, the Marine Nationale is elastic throughout. The impact is absorbed by the strap, not taken by the spring bars. They do not break; the strap returns to its original shape.
