Hirsch Liberty: the dark brown 24mm leather watch strap in saddle leather from the back of the hide. Natural grain, white contrast stitching, triple hand-varnished edges. Official Hirsch dealer.
The dark brown 24mm Liberty saddle leather watch strap is cut from the back of the hide, natural grain on show, white contrast stitching. Dark brown in 24mm is the usual compromise on large-diameter watches: character without noise.
The edge varnish is applied three times, by hand. It closes the fibre of the leather and stops moisture entering through the edge, exactly where cheap straps give way first.
From keeper to buckle, the white stitch stays even. It is the visual marker of the Liberty, inherited from saddlery workshops rather than from leather goods.
Taken from the back of the hide, the Liberty's leather hardens little and darkens slowly. It takes the mark of the wrist instead of cracking.
The whole width is in our Hirsch straps 24mm. The other Liberty in 24mm: Liberty light brown 24mm, Liberty black 24mm. In the narrower widths the Liberty exists in 20mm black and 22mm black. In 24mm the Hirsch Pure black rubber 24mm takes over as soon as the watch goes into water. For a plain leather with no visible stitching, compare with the Hirsch Duke black 22mm in 22mm. Changing it needs no tool: our video guide shows the operation.
