No top-stitching along the edges. Three ecru stitches only, set at the lug end. On a raw leather of this grain and at this width, continuous stitching would weigh the whole down considerably: it would add a line where the hide is already enough. It is the minimum needed, and the maximum allowed.

A buffalo left raw

The buffalo is neither smoothed nor corrected: its grain is the hide's own, irregular from piece to piece. On black, that grain is guessed at in raking light rather than displayed — a material with character that does not claim it.

Wide stainless buckle in the GPF style
