Ostrich is known by its quill marks

The small round reliefs running across the hide are the quill marks, where the feathers were set. They are never aligned the same way from one half to the other, and that is what makes each strap recognisable. No embossed leather reproduces that irregularity.

Honey brings out the relief

On a pale tone the quill marks catch shadow and read clearly; on a dark leather they disappear. Honey is therefore the colourway that makes most of what this hide has to offer. It goes with cream dials and steel cases.

Cut edge and light padding

The edge is cut clean and left visible — a coherent choice on a hide with relief, where a rolled edge would crush the grain. Light padding, 3.5 mm structure, hypoallergenic leather lining, vegetable tanning in Tuscany.
