The 20mm matt calf rally strap is built to patina
The matt tanning of this hide is chosen for one reason: it puts no pigment barrier between the leather and either light or contact. The colour therefore moves from the first weeks, faster than a treated smooth leather. This is the model for an older watch that should not wear an obviously new strap.
A rally for a collector's watch
On a nineteen-seventies chronograph, a leather that is too smooth gives the replacement away. Matt calf blends in. Our workshop shots show it on an Omega Speedmaster: the strap accompanies the case rather than trying to rejuvenate it.
Flat structure and through-perforations
Constant 3.5 mm thickness, no build-up at the lugs. Three rows of through-perforations, contrasting beige stitching, clean side cut, vegetable-tanned leather lining.
