Watch strap in 22mm khaki premium FKM rubber, microperforated Tropic type. Waterproof and hypoallergenic, this diving strap reproduces the basket-weave pattern of the original Tropic. Khaki draws on the tool-watch world, sober and rugged. Quick-release spring bars, satin stainless steel buckle.
In the 1950s, the first diving watches reached the wrists of combat swimmers, with no underwater electronics: Rolex Submariner, Blancpain Fifty Fathoms, Omega Seamaster 300, then on steel. A strap resistant to seawater, adjustable and wearable over a wetsuit was needed. Tropic answered in the 1960s.
FKM fluoroelastomer stands out for its longevity: no cracking, no fading, no odour. Gentle on sensitive skin, silicone-free, it combines the comfort of soft rubber with the toughness of a technical material.
A vintage standard like the NATO, the Tropic appeals again. It dressed prized watches: Yema Yachtingraf, Aquastar Regate or Lemania Regatta Yachting. Basket-weave pattern, notched border and embossed back echo the original.

Our own footage: the FKM rubber strap filmed flat, underwater, then put to the test kitesurfing.
In the same marine spirit, this 22mm pairs with the premium Hirsch Pure rubber strap, also available in 22mm. For a sportier stitched finish, see the stitched Arezzo Racing rubber strap.
