Rally watch strap, born in driving gloves

The 20mm rally watch strap in black and red takes the drawing of driving gloves: function holes running along the strap, meant originally to lighten and ventilate the hand at the wheel. The red holes give the origin away: they are those of 1960s driving gloves. It is the visual code of 1960s motorsport.

Buffalo leather, vegetable tanned

Buffalo is not calf. Its grain is bolder, more visible, and it takes rubbing better. Semi-aniline dyed and tanned with vegetable extracts, it keeps an authentic surface that patinates instead of wearing out.

What shows up close

The bar seam at the buckle, the safety stitch on the loose keeper: two hand-sewn details you only notice from close, and which hold the strap together over time. Edges lacquered three times.

The lining

Waterproof and hypoallergenic, it stops perspiration reaching the upper leather and extends its life. Fitting is tool-free, by Hirsch Quick Release spring bars.
