Black, and nothing else

The most restrained colourway in the range, and the hardest to get right: on black leather, the smallest cutting irregularity shows. On an Omega Speedmaster it does not try to exist — it holds the watch, and that is all.

The 2mm constraint

Making a NATO strap in leather is not a styling question, it is a thickness problem. The strap has to travel under the caseback exactly as nylon does. Two layers of leather, hypoallergenic lining included, and still under 2mm. Fits every watch.

Vegetable tanning: why it matters

Vegetable tanning takes weeks where chrome takes hours. It costs more and it is slower. In exchange, the leather develops a patina instead of cracking: it darkens, it takes the grain of your wrist, it tells a story after two years.

Arezzo leather, by hand

Tuscany has worked leather for centuries, and Arezzo is one of its centres. Our NATOSCAN straps are hand-assembled there, exclusively for La Boîte à Montres. Every piece leaves a workshop, not a production line.

Tool-free fitting

The strap travels under the caseback and wraps fully around the wrist — the NATO principle, transposed to leather. Nothing to dismantle, nothing to force. Both spring bars carry the watch: one lets go, the other holds. Stainless tongue and keepers.

The movement, on video

You will see nylon on screen: the demonstration is about the method, not the product. Remove the original bracelet, thread the strap under the case, done. The NATOSCAN fits the same way, material aside.

This strap and water: let us be clear

Leather does not forgive immersion. No sea, no pool, no shower, no washing machine — a soaked NATOSCAN never returns to what it was. For water, take a nylon NATO strap: that is exactly what nylon is for. Leather handles the other nine months.

Fits 20mm lug width

Tudor Black Bay 54, Tudor Ranger, Seiko SPB143, Seiko Sumo, Seiko Alpinist. Measure the gap between your lugs, not the case diameter.
