The 22mm racing watch strap with red stitching is made from carbon-embossed cowhide, vegetable-tanned, drum-dyed, in a semi-matt finish. Clean side cut, flat structure of 4 mm tapering to 3 mm. Rubberised leather lining. Marine stainless buckle included and removable.
The pattern is not printed: it is embossed into the cowhide, in relief, then finished semi-matt. The carbon catches the light at an angle and disappears head-on. The red stitching gives the only accent of colour, and is enough to place the strap in the sporting register. It is shown here on an O&G Pilot, by way of illustration — an original shot taken in our own workshop.
The rubberised leather lining is a technical proposition that extends the working life of the strap by limiting the effects of perspiration. It takes splashes without the leather moving — which makes this model wearable on a diver, where a leather-lined leather would stiffen.
22 mm is the width of large divers and pilot watches: Tudor Black Bay 41, Tudor Pelagos, Seiko Turtle SRP777, Panerai Luminor Due 42, Breitling Superocean Heritage 42, Sinn U1. Our lug width table by watch model confirms yours.
